As an Exercise Physiologist, I would see 100 clients or more per week. Prior to completing the Better Questions Workshop I believed I was a good health professional that had been trained to ask the correct questions to elicit thought provoking responses. However having listened to Lindsay, and putting into place her tips and techniques I have been able to take myself to another level as a practitioner. Lindsay was engaging, and her many metaphors and helpful tips are memorable and easily put into practice. I cannot recommend this training enough to anyone working with clients regularly, regardless of experience level as a guarantee they will learn something from the session. There is always room to improve as a practitioner, and this was a worthwhile session to assist my development as a young Exercise Physiologist. Thank you, Lindsay.
Ben Heyde, Exercise Physiologist, Carrington Health, VIC
I just wanted to thank you from the absolute bottom of my heart for the workshop last Wednesday in Warragul. It was honestly the most engaging and interesting PD that I've ever attended and felt not only beneficial for my practice as a clinician, but for my overall wellness and my ability to reflect on how I am living my life as a person. Your workshop re-invigorated me about the work that I do and my own potential within my practice and my life. I'm practising every day, I've downloaded your app and we as a department have signed up to your weekly questions! I'm so excited to continue to make better questioning a part of my life.
Gemma Rebbechi, Speech Pathologist, Gippsland Southern Health Service
The feedback from staff attending the Better Questions session was overwhelmingly positive. Lindsay's engaging delivery, evident passion for the topic and relatable stories helped the participants connect with the material presented. Staff left the session feeling empowered to Ask Better Questions and release the "Amazingness" in everyone. We look forward to having Lindsay present to our staff again in the future.
Susan Giles, Allied Health Manager, Occupational Therapy, Western Health, VIC
We found the workshops with Lindsay very useful, interactive and fun. It bought home the importance of being a good listener in the first instance and to reflect on our own practice as clinicians, parents, colleagues and friends. Asking better or different questions gives clients the chance to learn about themselves, about their strengths and abilities as well as giving them the space and opportunity to come up with solutions themselves. The stories and examples Lindsay used and the role plays we participated in demonstrated so clearly how asking the question differently can elicit a different response. We'd certainly recommend this workshop for anyone working in the health setting.

"To be a GP is to be interested in people and fascinated by their journeys. Our job is to help them on those journeys, and by asking better questions we can help them forge their own pathways. This one-day course gave me insights and practical tips to do this - I highly recommend it to my GP colleagues."

" I came away with a new perspective on how to communicate effectively and a new set of tools to easily and immediately apply to day-to-day situations, not only in my work but in my personal life too."
Lili Tang, Senior Physiotherapist, Medicine and Chronic Disease, Metro South Health, QLD
"Working in a phone based patient support program, I was encouraged by my colleagues to attend the 'Better Questions' workshop delivered by Tina Dolphin and I was not disappointed! The framework presented by Tina aligns with and nicely compliments other behavioural change techniques like motivational interviewing. The learning's of the workshop have helped me reflect on my own client questioning style; giving it a more progressive structure and helping me move away from making suggestions when my clients hit a solution development 'lull'. Tina is an extremely engaging facilitator and through her hands-on approach has helped me scan for cues and learn simple techniques that will allow me to take my clients on a journey of empowerment; moving them from a fear space into solution focused thinking and autonomous decision making. I look forward to next years' round of workshops so I can send all of my staff to learn the art of asking better questions!"
Kelcie Howard (B.SpPth), Project Coordinator, StrokeConnect Queensland National Stroke Foundation
"As a manager I found this workshop helpful in supporting the team and also being able to enable the team to take some ownership within the program. Feedback from staff has been great, learning a new approach in working with our clients has generated a lot of discussion. We intend to continue to review this approach within our team to support staff in their assessments of clients in our program. Following this workshop the team have initiated a 'blog' for all staff to access and share knowledge and ideas. Lindsay is an excellent facilitator, engaging and extremely passionate about her subject material. The team are very keen to utilize the toolkit to assist them to "ask better questions" in forming client centred goals." Highly recommend this workshop to both management and clinicians."

Our work with Lindsay Tighe aimed to provide workshops for health care workers to promote self-management. We were thrilled when the workshops were fully subscribed for the first 12 months. What we appreciate most about working with Lindsay is her authenticity & her ability to connect with different people at the workshops and consistently deliver above and beyond expectations. The offer of further support via email or telephone after attending the workshops is an excellent example of her belief in the methodology and her work ethic.

Hi Lindsay, Thank you so much – I have had so much positive feedback from so many staff, who have all said not only how useful the new skills will be in the workplace but also in daily life!
Brenda Elliott, Physiotherapy Department Head, Nepean Hospital, Nepean Blue Mountains LHD, NSW
I recently saw Lindsay speak at the APNA conference in Brisbane. Lindsay's workshop was THE HIGHLIGHT of the conference for me. Lindsay teaches a transforming principle of reversing how we communicate. It is a very reflective method of communication which encourages self insight and to bury the assumption that the "teller" of information is always right. I cannot recommend this workshop highly enough.
Sue Robertson, Acting Co-Director Nursing, Chronic, Complex and Community Services - Primary Health Service, Tasmanian Health Service
"I have attended this training twice and have had Lindsay deliver it to our assessment staff. I highly recommend this training to assessment staff. The model upholds the principles of wellness and reablement and is strengths based. The concepts are simple and easily incorporated into assessment practice and anyone who has attended the training has just loved it!"
Claire Bishop, Team Leader, Regional Assessment Service, Illawarra Shoalhaven Health District, NSW Health, NSW
"The promo for the day resonated with a lot of what I have observed – people who are experts talking at patients and giving them all the information about a condition that they think they need to know to manage it better, but not always listening and understanding where the patient is at and the things that matter to them. And of course, later, we health professionals can complain about patients being non-compliant! It's one thing to understand that but another to embed it as a change in the way you practise. What Lindsay has done is transform the concept into a workshop that is engaging and thoughtful, applicable to lots of aspects of life as well as how health professionals can better support patients in their learning and self-management. It is a bit like learning motivational interviewing but much simpler and was presented in such a way that everyone "got it". Attendees enjoyed and I think will remember the workshop and change the way they work as practitioners."
Dr Sandra, Thompson, Director, WA Centre for Rural Health, UWA
We've all heard the advice about asking open ended, rather than closed, questions. But why? In Lindsay Tighe's Better Questions workshop, we delved into exploring the issues of language, leadership and the consequences of telling people what to do. Which communication role have I been playing in my career and family life? Am I the Teller or the Asker? Lindsay effortlessly created a safe space allowing me to become conscious of personal habits that were stifling myself, and my teams, potential. Breaking free of these has enabled positive thinking, creativity and growth. This workshop changed me. If you feel, or know, your team has more to offer, this workshop will bring the questions out of you. To motivate, empower and build better thinkers. My career is in healthcare, but I can see how this workshop would benefit all industries. There really is no limit to who can benefit from Better Questions. I can already see the changes happening, and it's only been a week!
Glen Bayliss, Practice Manager, Paddington Family Practice, NSW
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to attend the Better Health Professionals Ask Better Questions a couple of years ago and I was so impressed with the communication skills I learnt and the positive change and influence I could create with these skills that I arranged for Lindsay to present at Barwon Health Palliative Care Week this year. Weeks later on from this workshop I love seeing my peers put their Better Questions communications skills into practice to improve the quality of care we deliver to our patients, and the way we communicate with each other as health professionals. We now have a whole service of Potentialisers who listen, empower and understand the power of asking rather than telling. I highly recommend this workshop to any service providing patient centred care.
Melanie Davies, Clinical Nurse Consultant, Palliative Care, Barwon Health, VIC
"What an inspiring program! This wonderful workshop enables one to realise that by stepping back you enable and empower your clients to take more control of their own health. I highly recommend that all health and wellbeing practitioners learn these skills as we all need to consistently reflect on and improve our practice and tap in to the potential of others".
Rhonda Hinds, Registered Nurse, Community Nursing.

Our region decided to engage Better Questions on the recommendation of nurses from RDNS Melbourne. We were looking for training which would assist nurses in our region to move from solving problems for their clients to enabling clients to work out solutions for themselves and then assisting as their nursing skills were required. So that nurses could see what the Better Questions skills would mean to them we asked Lindsay to present at the annual regional forum. The effect was a very strong positive "Where can we get more of this?". We have since engaged her to present workshops to the regions nurses and have had an overwhelmingly positive response.
